Job Summary
The Finance and Administration Director is responsible for safeguarding the YMCA’s resources by ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and statutory regulations. The role provides strategic financial leadership, strengthens administrative systems, manages risks, and ensures that the organization maintains a stable operational foundation to support youth development initiatives.
The position plays a critical role in maintaining donor confidence through effective financial controls, transparent reporting, compliance with international grant regulations, and promoting a culture of accountability.
Financial Management & Compliance
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow management, payroll, and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with international donor financial regulations and local statutory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, including budget versus actual analysis and audit reports, for the Board and international partners.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Program Director/Manager to ensure program costs are accurately planned and allocated.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and organizational sustainability.
Strategic Budgeting
- Develop and manage strategic financial plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ensure effective allocation and utilization of financial resources.
- Support program teams in financial planning and cost management.
Administrative Leadership (HR & Governance)
- Manage Human Resources functions, ensuring policies are equitable, inclusive, and aligned with YMCA’s commitment to a Just World and Vision 2030 pillars.
- Maintain legal, administrative, and organizational records to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage organizational assets and facilities to ensure a safe and supportive environment for youth development.
- Strengthen administrative systems and operational procedures to improve organizational effectiveness.
Risk Management
- Identify financial and operational risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and continuous improvement of financial controls.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA or ACCA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of senior-level financial management experience in an NGO or international organization.
- Deep understanding of donor financial reporting requirements, including cost principles and allowable costs.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong leadership skills and high ethical integrity.
- Knowledge of IPSAS and asset valuation procedures.
