Job Summary:

The Finance Controller is responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial control across all business units of Boston Partners PLC. The role supports strategic decision-making by providing timely financial insights and leading a high-performing finance team.

Reports To: Director of Finance

Location: Boston Partners PLC – Head Office

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Develop and implement annual budgets and financial plans in collaboration with department heads.
• Analyze variances between budgeted and actual performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Support management in strategic planning with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Establish and maintain strong internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
• Conduct periodic audits and work closely with internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve operational excellence.
• Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide guidance for professional growth.
• Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Provide timely financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Evaluate financial performance and profitability of business units, projects, and investments.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and revenue enhancement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A professional qualification such as IFRS etc is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, including at least 2 years in a senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, corporate finance, budgeting, and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, IDS
