Job Description
East Africa Bottling S.C., a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa and the exclusive bottler of Coca-Cola products in Ethiopia, is pleased to invite passionate and qualified candidates to apply for the position of Financial Accountant. which is based in Addis Ababa Plant.
Key Purpose Statement
is responsible to oversee and maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records through accurate accounting, timely reporting, and strict compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The role ensures that all financial transactions are properly recorded and analyzed to provide reliable insights for decision-making, support efficient budgeting and cost control, and contribute to the company’s overall financial stability, growth, and strategic objectives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Drive accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet and general ledger.
- Manage completion of financial close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support annual audit processes and liaise with external/internal auditors.
Asset and Capital Management
- Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure compliance with asset governance policies.
- Oversee capital expenditure processes including forecasting, tracking, and reconciliations.
- Support the capital investment process, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
Payables Management
- Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
- Review and approve invoices, expense claims, and payment schedules.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Receivables Management
- Oversee accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of payments.
- Monitor customer accounts and aging reports.
- Reconcile receivables and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and credit terms.
Taxation and Compliance
- Support tax planning and ensure compliance with local tax laws and CCBA group policies.
- Review tax computations and returns in collaboration with Local and group Tax.
- Ensure import/export compliance with relevant legislation.
Governance and Controls
- Implement and monitor internal controls aligned to SOX and IFC requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CCBA Treasury, accounting, and audit standards.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with market finance and operations teams to deliver financial insights.
- Engage with CCBA HQ Finance (Tax, IFRS, Treasury, Governance) on technical matters.
- Manage relationships with outsourced financial service providers.
People & Performance Management
- Support a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to junior finance team members
Qualification
- BA Degree in Accounting and Finance
- 5 years’ experience in Finance (financial accounting, Payable management, fixed asset management and Account receivable management)
