Job Summary: The Fleet GPS Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the GPS tracking systems for the company’s fleet of trucks. This role includes follow up of drivers behavior, analyzing data for operational improvements, and ensuring the accurate and effective use of GPS technology to optimize fleet performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

    GPS System Management:

      • Administer and control trucks with GPS tracking systems, ensuring all hardware and software components are functioning correctly.
      • Align with the service provider to Install and configure GPS devices in fleet vehicles and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
      • Prepare a proposal about updated technology/system and follow of upgrade GPS software to leverage new features and improvements.

        Data Analysis and Reporting:

          • Monitor and analyze GPS data to track vehicle locations, routes, and performance metrics.
          • Generate and interpret reports on fleet activity, including vehicle utilization, driver behavior, and fuel efficiency.
          • Use data insights to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support decision-making processes.

            Operational Support:

              • Provide support to fleet coordinators and drivers regarding GPS-related inquiries and issues.
              • Assist in optimizing routes and scheduling to improve efficiency and reduce costs based on GPS data.
              • Ensure that GPS data is used to enhance safety, including monitoring for unauthorized vehicle use or deviations from scheduled routes.

                Compliance and Security:

                  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations related to GPS tracking and data privacy.
                  • Implement and enforce security protocols to protect GPS data and prevent unauthorized access.

                    Vendor and Technology Management:

                      • Liaise with GPS system vendors and service providers to manage contracts, negotiate pricing, and address service issues.
                      • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in GPS technology to recommend and implement new solutions.

                        Training and Support:

                          • Train fleet staff and drivers on the use of GPS systems and best practices for utilizing GPS data.
                          • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance for any GPS-related issues encountered by users.

                            Documentation and Record Keeping:

                              • Maintained accurate records of GPS equipment inventory, installation details, and maintenance activities.
                              • Document and track system changes, updates, and configurations.

                              Qualifications:

                              • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
                              • Experience: Previous experience with GPS tracking systems, fleet management, or IT support is advantageous.
                              • Skills: Strong technical skills with GPS hardware and software; proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools; excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
                              • Knowledge: Familiarity with GPS technologies, MS-Excel, Power Point, fleet management practices, and data privacy regulations.
