Role Purpose
Plan and supervise local operations and courier staff to ensure daily operational productivity, quality and cost targets are met and standard procedures are followed. Provide leadership and motivation to staff and to monitor their productivity, development and satisfaction
Accountabilities:
- Support business acquisition and customer relationship management from the operations perspective for defined customers, both directly with customers and in conjunction with appropriate DHL sales management
- Ensure daily operational targets are met and take actions to reverse identified areas of underperformance
- Manage the couriers to ensure cost targets are achieved
- Ensure pick up, delivery and shipment processing services are executed in line with service, quality and cost -performance standards and targets.
- Support the effective implementation and deployment of Regional and country projects, programmes and initiatives, and the realization of agreed business benefits, within the SBU.
- Ensure compliance with DHL security policies and procedures, standards for first aid and Health and Safety and environmental guidelines.
- Ensure that all couriers debrief sheets and pick-up sheets are completed and signed off daily by the debriefer and supervisor. Then make sure the documents are filed correctly.
- Ensure warehouse equipment and vehicles are kept in optimum operating conditions to warrant an efficient operation.
- Plan, execute and document Courier coach ride in line with pre-set targets

Expected Years of Experience
- 2 years experience in operations area
- Good knowledge of global air express and/or the freight forwarding business
Qualification
- First Degree in Business studies or its equivalent
