Job Summary
Education Development Trust is looking for a IT and Digital Learning officer to design and maintain learning materials in partnership with subject matter experts and training specialists. The programme will strengthen the relevance and quality of secondary education to ensure the successful transition of secondary students to tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge and attitude through enhanced implementation of the competency-based curriculum.
The IT and Digital Learning Officer is responsible for designing and maintaining learning materials in partnership with subject matter experts and training specialists. They will create of online course content, to be published in a 3rd party LMS. They will apply a range of software and learning design skills and will create high quality assets including graphics and imagery; video; interactive learning activities and effective assessment tools. The role will also enable ongoing, impactful engagement with digital learning by: carrying out LMS administration including managing user accounts; providing training to users and other stakeholders; and acting as first-line support for school-based users. The IT and Digital Learning Officer will also provide initial local support for IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and digital tools across regional offices, schools, and Community Career & Vocational Hubs, liaising with other IT specialists and colleagues as required.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field
- An understanding of eLearning principles including accessibility, user experience optimization, and instructional design
- Experience of administrating and configuring learning management systems
- Experience of creating videos, including screencasts and live video, and using video editing tools.
- Experience of creating brand-aligned, high quality graphics and interactive resources.
- Experience creating effective learning resources
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, system administration, user support and experience providing IT support in an organisational setting
