Position Overview
The Junior Lab Technician will support the research, development, and quality control processes of an organic liquid fertilizer company. This entry-level role involves:
- Conducting laboratory tests
- Preparing organic fertilizer formulations
- Assisting in product development
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and test organic liquid fertilizer samples, including raw materials (e.g., compost extracts, bio-stimulants) and finished products.
- Quality Control Testing: Perform routine tests to verify product consistency and compliance with organic certification standards.
- Formulation Support: Assist in developing and optimizing organic fertilizer formulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Data Recording and Reporting: Collect and record experimental data accurately.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock laboratory supplies.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols.
- Sustainability Practices: Support the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in chemistry, agricultural science, environmental science, or a related field.
- Experience: 0–2 years of laboratory experience; internships or academic lab work is a plus.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with organic farming principles is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data entry and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with effective communication skills.
- Certifications: Training in laboratory safety or quality control is beneficial.
Work Environment
- Location: Laboratory setting, with occasional visits to production facilities.
- Schedule: Full-time, typically 40 hours per week.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 kg.
