Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain confirmed cargo manifest timely through MOS/OM and email. Check accuracy of data in MOS/OM within 72 hours after vessel sailing data, reporting any gaps to superiors.
- Check and generate operations as soon as cargo manifest data have been received.
- Respond timely to any email messages requested from the shipping sector, agents, and MTS Djibouti.
- Give cargo status information to customers by organizing bi-weekly reports, loading reports, and arrival reports.
- Organize daily operational reports and present them to superiors.
- Organize any complaints that may arise from customers and present them to superiors.
- Follow up that the container-deposit-user-customer settles by submitting original CRV, EIR, and a copy of the Bill of Lading. Prepare Debit Notes for customers that have not returned empty containers within the grace period.
- Reconcile and report daily to superiors the container full-out balance from Djibouti with empty returns to the dry port or Djibouti.
- Organize and file Loading Reports, Empty-in reports, lists of released containers, and lists of container agreement user customers.
- Communicate via telephone or email if the customer does not return the empty container timely. Report to the immediate leader if there is no response.
- Follow up on the return of empty containers from bonded-warehouse owner customers.
- Facilitate and ensure that exporters receive empty containers on time.
- Follow up and report container damages caused by truck or machinery accidents.
Generic Duties
- Keep the immediate supervisor informed with regular, detailed, and accurate work reports on progress and challenges.
- Take self-initiative to develop competence and improve performance.
- Develop an individual performance plan; implement feedback received from the immediate supervisor during performance evaluations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Shipping Management, Logistics, Port Management, Management, Economics, Marketing, Accounting, International Trade and Investment, or Business Administration
