Laundry Man

Job Summary:

The Laundry Man is responsible for providing efficient laundry services by washing, drying, ironing, folding, and properly handling linens, uniforms, and guest or organizational laundry. The role ensures high standards of cleanliness, fabric care, and timely delivery while maintaining laundry equipment and complying with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, wash, dry, iron, fold, and package linens, uniforms, and garments according to established procedures.
• Operate laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, steam presses, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect laundry items for stains, damages, or repairs before and after processing.
• Apply appropriate washing methods and cleaning chemicals based on fabric type and care instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area and equipment.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensure timely collection, processing, and delivery of laundry items.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry services and inventory where required.
• Follow workplace health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Provide courteous and professional service to internal and external customers.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Educational Qualifications:

• TVET Level IV with COC in Housekeeping and Laundry Operation, Front Office Supervision, or a related field.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Laundry Man or in a related laundry and housekeeping role.
• Experience in hotels, hospitals, hospitality establishments, or commercial laundry facilities is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Good knowledge of laundry operations, fabric care, and stain removal techniques.
• Ability to operate and maintain laundry equipment safely.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper usage.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks.
• High level of cleanliness, reliability, and professionalism.
