Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team and oversee the ophthalmology department. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled medical professional with a deep passion for eye care, committed to providing top-tier diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures for patients. As the Lead Ophthalmologist, you will be responsible for managing the department, guiding junior staff, and providing exceptional care to our patients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Optometry from a recognized and accredited university/institution, licensed by the regulatory authority.
- 2-5 years of experience in an ophthalmology setting, with a strong focus on patient care, diagnostics, and surgical assistance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior ophthalmologists.
- Comprehensive understanding of ophthalmic procedures, diagnostic tools, and treatments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- A passion for continuous learning and staying updated on the latest advancements in ophthalmology.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Diagnosis:
- Lead and oversee the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal disorders.
- Perform advanced ophthalmic examinations and procedures, including surgeries and diagnostics.
- Ensure that all patients receive high-quality care and follow appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Surgical & Clinical Responsibilities:
- Perform complex eye surgeries and other advanced ophthalmic procedures.
- Manage surgical cases from consultation to post-operative care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Mentor and support junior ophthalmologists and clinical staff during surgeries and clinical evaluations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure high standards of care in the department.
Leadership & Department Management:
- Lead and manage the ophthalmology department, ensuring effective coordination between medical staff, nurses, and support staff.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior ophthalmologists to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate with administrative teams to ensure smooth patient flow and optimize department operations.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of ophthalmic equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Continuous Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in ophthalmology practices, technologies, and treatments.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by organizing regular training and workshops for department staff.
