Job Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Reporting (MELR) Officer.
Reporting to: The Project Coordinator.
Major Duties
- Lead the monitoring and evaluation activities of the project at the field level.
- Conduct project data collection, prepare monitoring and evaluation plans, compile data, and reports.
- Provide the project team with technical support on planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Prepare reports on the progress and performance of the project on a regular basis and as required.
- Implement annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly monitoring work plans for the project.
- Ensure that technical compliance of the project required by donors and government partners are fulfilled.
- Ensure that the project is implemented as per the intended target, approach, quality, and time frame.
- Provide the project team with training on monitoring in general and performance data collection and reporting in particular.
- Coordinate joint monitoring and evaluation activities of government stakeholders at regional, zonal, and Woreda levels.
- Document and share the processes and lessons of the project monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure that safeguarding of children, the young, and vulnerable adults; gender; disability; and HIV/AIDS concerns are integrated into all project activities (planning and implementation) as well as in monitoring and evaluation functions.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Qualification
- M.A. Degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, Statistics, Sociology, Economics, and other social sciences.
Experience
- Minimum of six years relevant experience working on similar or related projects.
- NGOs experience is an advantage.
Required Skills
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to mobilize and coordinate with diverse stakeholders and community groups at the grassroots level.
- Adequate knowledge of child protection and reproductive health issues, including relevant policies and frameworks.
- Good data collection design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills.
- Research, documentation, and report writing skills.
- Good command of English and Amharic languages, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Sidama language is an advantage.
- Motorbike riding license is also an advantage.
Job Details
Duty station: Hawassa City, with frequent travel to project Woredas.
Condition of employment: One-year contract with the possibility of extension based on performance and project continuity.
Salary: Negotiable.
