Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization's network infrastructure. The role ensures reliable, secure, and efficient operation of network systems while providing technical support and improving network performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security to ensure stable operations.
• Identify and resolve network connectivity issues and provide technical support to users.
• Perform network configuration, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Manage LAN/WAN infrastructure and ensure proper network communication between systems.
• Configure and maintain network security controls, including access management and firewall policies.
• Perform network testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting using appropriate tools.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and technical reports.
• Support implementation of network improvement projects and system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.

Educational Qualification

• BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related fields.

Work Experience

• Relevant experience in networking, network administration, or IT infrastructure support is required.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Experience with network devices such as Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls is an advantage.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Ability to configure and maintain wired and wireless networks.
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments is an advantage.
