East Africa Bottling S.C., a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa and the exclusive bottler of Coca-Cola products in Ethiopia, is pleased to invite passionate and qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Tax Accountant., which is based in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will report directly to the Country Lead-Tax.
Key Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Senior Tax Accountant role is to ensure the organization’s full compliance with tax laws and regulations by accurately preparing, reviewing, and filing all tax-related documents and reports. The role is responsible for providing expert tax planning, analysis, and advisory support to optimize the company’s tax position, minimize risks, and ensure timely submission of tax returns. Additionally, the Senior Tax Accountant contributes to strategic decision-making by interpreting complex tax legislation, supporting audits, and maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities and relevant stakeholders.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Support all aspects of the company’s tax compliance, ensuring strict adherence to local tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of all tax filings, disclosures, and returns, maintaining proper documentation to meet statutory obligations.
- Facilitate and support tax audits conducted by local tax authorities, internal auditors, and the compliance team, ensuring full compliance with audit requirements.
2. Tax Planning and Strategy Implementation
- Support the implementation of CCBA tax strategies within the country, ensuring alignment with both local regulations and organizational objectives.
- Conduct regular and monthly tax trend analyses to identify anomalies, optimize tax processes, and propose actionable solutions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
3. Process Standardization and Optimization
- Drive the standardization and continuous improvement of the company’s tax-related processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all operations.
- Design and implement action plans based on analytical insights to enhance the effectiveness of tax management practices.
4. Stakeholder Management and Advisory
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including local tax authorities, external auditors, tax consultants, and the Group tax function, to resolve tax issues promptly and efficiently.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external parties on tax-related matters, representing the organization’s interests professionally and maintaining a positive corporate image.
5. Risk Management and Compliance Support
- Identify potential tax risks and provide recommendations to mitigate exposure, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws.
- Provide advisory support to internal teams and management on tax implications of business decisions, projects, and transactions.
Qualification
- First degree in Accounting and Finance with a minimum of five years of experience in tax accounting.
- FMCG experience is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a similar fast-paced environment is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage assertively and respectfully across internal teams and external partners.

- Highly organized with attention to detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution and process improvement.
