Required Number =4 (four) Workplace: at selected regions The Rabies Laboratory personnel will support the rabies laboratory capacity building activities in the selected regions. Technical Responsibilities: - Coordinate rabies and other zoonotic disease detection and surveillance as well as research activities in the selected region. Provides technical assistance, laboratory strengthening, and quality assurance/quality control. Supports laboratories in building laboratory network and support in fostering collaboration and networking between the laboratories. - Sample collection including animal brain for rabies diagnostic purpose and also for other zoonotic diseases upon need . Conduct routine laboratory tests at the rabies laboratory and, also on other diseases in collaboration with other laboratories inside the region and outside of the regional institute. . Closely work with collagenous mainly with veterinary technologies fellow to ensure the quality of laboratory result . Ensure the safety of laboratory putting in place appropriate equipment, clothing, chemicals, reagents immunization of all workers in the laboratories . Daily, weekly and quarterly report the status and result to the team leader and health officer through hard copy and electronic means . Put collected laboratory result in soft copy (excel form) . Provide a laboratory result for the client Job Requirements . BSc on laboratory technology (animal health) and DVM . Work experience: Minimum requirement is 2 years on veterinary laboratory Salary: Birr 10,500.00
