We deliver solar and clean-cooking solutions across Africa, including mini-grids, rooftop and ground-mounted systems, EPC services, Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGo) financing, and energy-efficient cooking technologies. Our goal is practical climate impact and reliable energy access. Purpose Support day-to-day accounting and office operations with ownership of routine processes and a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement.

Reports to Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Support

  • Collect, verify, and file source documents (invoices, receipts, GRNs, delivery notes).
  • Prepare payment support packs, ensuring coding accuracy and proper approvals.
  • Record, process, and post financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and journal entries.
  • Assist with monthly bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Handle petty cash, ensuring accurate reconciliation of receipts vs. cash on hand.
  • Prepare staff reimbursement summaries and petty cash replenishment requests.
  • Assist in payroll preparation.
  • Prepare and file monthly tax reports via the ETAX system.
  • Liaise with banks and other external stakeholders as needed.

Administration & Office Operations

  • Manage office supplies, stationery, utilities tracking, and replenishment.
  • Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and visitor logistics.
  • Maintain vendor databases and contact lists; track contract renewal dates.
  • Keep employee files and leave records updated in Notion.
  • Support logistics for events, training sessions, and internal activities.

Inventory & Documentation

  • Record GRN and issuance entries in Notion; label and tag assets accurately.
  • Assist with periodic cycle counts and document variances for review.
  • Ensure all documents are scanned, properly named, and stored consistently.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Follow SOPs for procure-to-pay and approval workflows.
  • Use checklists for month-end closing tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and HR data at all times.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and basic Ethiopian tax laws.
  • Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Peachtree is an advantage.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working within a PLC (Private Limited Company) in Ethiopia.
  • Competent in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with Notion is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Amharic and English.
