Job Summary
The AP Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the Accounts Payable function by ensuring timely vendor payments, proper documentation, accurate reconciliations, and compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.
The role requires strong leadership capability, financial discipline, and attention to detail to maintain efficiency and transparency in payment processing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Accounts Payable team
- Review and validate Weekly Aged Payables Summary before submission
- Ensure all payments are supported by complete and authorized documentation
- Coordinate with the Finance Manager to confirm fund availability
- Monitor cheque preparation, CPV approval, and payment execution
- Review weekly cheque movement and reconciliation reports
- Ensure timely system updates of payment status and cheque references
- Monitor outstanding appointments and unresolved payables
- Ensure strict compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Provide periodic reports and recommendations to management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 4–6 years relevant experience in Accounts Payable
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, reconciliation, and reporting
- Experience in logistics or transport sector is an advantage
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- High level of integrity and accountability
