Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly and reliable cashier to join our team. You will be the first and last person guests interact with, handling orders and payments and providing excellent customer service. Your role is key in making every guest feel welcome and cared for.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and answer their questions
- Perform daily sales reconciliation and cash handling with accuracy.
- Take orders correctly and enter them into the system
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments
- Maintain the general ledger, including accounts receivable/payable.
- Give accurate change and receipts
- Assist with takeaway and delivery orders
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and serving staff
- Handle guest complaints politely and find quick solutions
- Follow company rules for money handling and customer service
- Support other team members when needed
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant or café
- Attention to detail
- Friendly and professional attitude
- Fluent in Amharic; basic English skills
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to Work for long periods and handle busy hours
- Honest and reliable
Preferred
- Experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Previous work in a hospitality or customer-facing role
- Good at multitasking and staying calm under pressure
- Knowledge of Ethiopian dishes and dining customs
