Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or a master’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Strategic Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of impactful experience in corporate communications, internal communication, media relations, or public affairs.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans that drive engagement.
- Strong experience in internal communications and change communication.
- Skilled in managing media relations, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement, including government and community relations.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
- Proficient in digital communication tools, intranet platforms, and social media.
- High levels of ownership, agility, and interpersonal influence.
What You Will Do
- Design and implement integrated communication and PR strategies aligned with BGI Ethiopia’s corporate vision and priorities.
- Lead the internal communication strategy, approach, and execution to support business priorities and cultural transformation.
- Engaging cross-functionally to understand strategic priorities and tailor internal messaging accordingly.
- Own and lead internal communications, working closely with key internal stakeholders to cascade relevant, credible, and timely messaging.
- Develop and produce high-quality content for press releases, media kits, speeches, internal publications, executive messaging, and digital platforms.
- Support proactive media relations, building and sustaining strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers.
- Plan and oversee strategic stakeholder engagement initiatives, including mapping, segmentation, and the development of tailored communication approaches for each audience.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and provide regular reports on the company's reputation.
- Develop and manage stakeholder database to support targeted engagement and networking.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and subject matter experts, to curate, integrate, and maintain uniform communication and knowledge management practices.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with regulatory bodies, government officials, media, community leaders, and NGOs.
- Serve as a strategic liaison for high-level stakeholder engagement and events.
- Support the execution of major corporate events, press briefings, launches, and CSR campaigns with strategic visibility outcomes.
- Develop content for social media networks and monitor industry trends and sustainability practices to identify opportunities for proactive Communication.
- Manage BGI’s corporate website and those of its subsidiaries, ensuring consistency across all web platforms and regularly updating content to reflect accurate, timely, and strategic information.
- Monitor industry and national developments, compile and report for internal management.
- Manage content calendars and provide creative direction for BGI’s digital presence.
