Job Summary
The Communications Officer will be responsible for implementing and coordinating internal and external communication activities of the organization. The role supports program visibility, branding, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and donor communication across incubation and acceleration programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication plans aligned with organizational goals and partner requirements.
- Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and visibility across all platforms and materials.
- Manage and update digital platforms including website, social media, and newsletters.
- Create engaging content such as success stories, case studies, blogs, reports, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Support communication for events including workshops, demo days, open calls, and public forums.
- Coordinate media engagement, interviews, and public announcements when required.
- Prepare donor-compliant communication materials and ensure adherence to branding guidelines.
- Document program milestones, startup achievements, and impact stories.
- Support internal communication and coordination across teams.
- Monitor communication performance metrics and provide periodic updates.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, or related field.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in communications, highly preferably in startups, innovation hubs, NGOs, or development projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Experience managing social media and digital communication platforms.
