Field Security Officer

Job Purpose:

To support the Field Security Coordinator (FSC) in ensuring that effective security measures for the Response Office programs are properly planned, implemented, and aligned with the national security context. Lead efforts to optimize organizational security and mitigate operational risks by establishing robust security systems and mechanisms that promote an institutional culture of safety and security. Serve as Acting FSC in his/her absence, ensuring continuity of security leadership and oversight.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Response Office security strategy in alignment with World Vision’s global security policies.
• Ensure Security Risk Assessments (SRAs), Context Risk Ratings (CRRs), and Core Security Requirements (CSR) are conducted and updated.
• Provide leadership and guidance to security focal persons across the Response Office.
• Ensure alignment with World Vision policies, guidelines, and strategic priorities.
• Collaborate on conducting Security Risk Assessments and updating Context Risk Ratings.
• Verify implementation of Core Security Requirements in line with risk ratings.
• Provide support during crisis situations and conduct investigations when required.
• Engage local leaders and represent World Vision in NGO security networks.
• Strengthen coordination and information sharing with partners and stakeholders.
• Support safety of staff and continuity of humanitarian operations.
• Receive, analyze, and disseminate safety and security information.
• Manage day-to-day security incidents and oversee access control systems.
• Coordinate security capacity-building plans and promote security awareness.
• Provide regular reports and ensure compliance with reporting procedures.
• Conduct performance reviews of security focal persons.
• Support program teams with risk advisories and mission planning.
• Coordinate with support departments on safety and compliance.
• Maintain communication with government security organs.
• Collaborate with humanitarian partners on security coordination.

Required Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification:

• BA in Police or Law Enforcement Training.
• Passing the HEAT course is mandatory.
• Completion of HEAT training within 90 days or equivalent SSR course required.

Required Professional Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a recognized security field.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and relationship-building skills.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:

• Office-based with 30% domestic travel.

Language Requirements:

• Strong communication skills in English and the relevant local language.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
