Purpose of Job
The Food Systems Resilience Program for Eastern and Southern Africa Project (FSRP) is funded by the World Bank with the objective to increase the resilience of food systems and preparedness for food security in targeted parts of Eastern and Southern Africa.
Main Functions
- Manage project finance, including processing project payments and supporting general administration.
- Check invoices, receipts, and documents for correctness and compliance.
- Validate invoices and transactions as required.
- Ensure timely processing of all payments for project activities.
- Reconcile and adjust expenditures for FSRP Project Coordinator review.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
- Assist in external and internal audits.
- Prepare monthly declarations and payments for consultants.
- Support payments to participants at workshops.
- Propose initiatives to improve current policies and regulations.
- Assist in project financial planning, including budgeting.
- Participate in finance workshops as required.
- Provide financial information for quarterly and annual reports.
- Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops.
- Coordinate technical work related to partnerships and research.
- Organize international meetings and advocate for strategic partnerships.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in financial management/accounting or related fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Or a Master’s degree in financial management/accounting or related fields with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in large and complex development projects.

Tenure of Appointment
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for one (1) year, with the first three (3) months as a probationary period. The contract may be renewed subject to funding availability, satisfactory performance, and agreed deliverables.
