Health And Safety Officer

Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the implementation of workplace health, safety, and environmental standards across site operations. The role focuses on preventing accidents, enforcing safety regulations, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, particularly in construction or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and construction safety standards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to reduce risks.
• Conduct safety training and awareness sessions for site workers and staff.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on site.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and management on safety issues.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure safe working procedures are followed.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety standards.

Qualification:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related fields.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in site health and safety management and construction supervision.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction site safety systems and risk management.
