Intern – Governance And Rule Of Law

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme or higher); or
• Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent); or
• Recently graduated with a university degree (as defined above) in Governance, Peace and Security, Development Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Public Policy, Law, Human Rights, or a related Social Science discipline, and if selected, able to start the internship within one year of graduation; or
• Enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee-ship programme and undertaking the internship as part of this programme.

Experience Requirements

• No professional work experience is required for applicants to the UNDP Internship Programme.
• Applicants should have a field of study closely related to the type of internship they are applying for.

Availability and Interest

• Availability to work consecutively for a period of three months.
• Strong interest in local and international governance, peacebuilding, and rule of law related issues.

Skills

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
• Knowledge and experience in communications, public relations, or a related role is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
• Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Additional Advantage

• Knowledge of the organization’s sector or field of work would be desirable.
