ACE is seeking to recruit a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance and Operations team. The Junior Accountant will provide day-to-day financial and administrative support to ensure ACE’s operations run smoothly, in compliance with internal financial manuals, HR policies, and country legal frameworks.
The role combines core accounting functions with administrative responsibilities to support the Finance & Operations Unit. It requires a commitment to organizational growth, flexibility, and a willingness to go above and beyond to support the firm’s growth.

Specific Responsibilities
Financial Responsibilities
- Record financial transactions in line with ACE’s financial manual & Peachtree accounting system.
- Assist in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and petty cash management.
- Support in payroll preparation, ensuring tax, pension, and other statutory deductions are accurate and timely.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian taxation laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date records of accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist with the preparation of invoices, receipts, and financial reports.
- Prepare financial statements and report to the management team.
- Support annual audits and provide documentation as required.
- Track staff loans, advances, and reimbursements in line with company policy.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Manager.
Administrative/Operations Oversight
- Engagement & liaison with key stakeholders about ACE operations, including Financial Institutions, Government/Regulatory Bodies, and Services vendors.
- Maintain proper filing systems (digital & physical) for financial, HR, & operational records.
- Manage office supplies, logistics, & equipment records in compliance with ACE’s asset policies.
- Coordinate staff travel requests & settlements (transport, accommodation, per diem).
- Liaise with external service providers (banks, insurance, tax offices, travel agencies).
- Support HR in maintaining attendance, leave records, and onboarding documentation.
- Assist with event logistics, procurement processes, and meeting arrangements.
- Support in the advice and training of all staff on ACE operations and finance systems and cultures.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background in Accounting, Finance, Management, Business Administration, or other relevant fields.
- A CGPA of 3.00 and above is MANDATORY.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or administration.
- Good knowledge of Ethiopian tax, payroll & pension, & financial reporting requirements.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Fluency in English and Amharic (office language) required, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency and mastery of relevant software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT).
- Knowledge of Peachtree/Sage and other relevant accounting software is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
