Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Law Clerk / Legal Assistant to support our litigation and consulting practice. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent law graduates who want to gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day work of a litigation-focused law office.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle communications between the law office, clients, and third parties
- Maintain records and ensure organized case file management
- Support tax compliance and administrative tasks of the office
- Open court files and manage procedural requirements
- Handle court-related tasks (excluding litigation advocacy) such as filing, document submissions, and follow-ups with registries and clerks
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, case bundles, and evidence organization
- Conduct preliminary legal research and summarize relevant laws or precedents
- Provide logistical and scheduling support for hearings and client meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree
- Work experience not required (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Amharic and English
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines
- Professionalism, integrity, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced litigation environment
