Job Purpose:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring workplace safety while operating and executing packaging processes in a qualitative and efficient manner. The role focuses on improving key performance indicators, reducing production losses, maintaining product quality, and supporting a safe and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow and comply with all safety, environmental, food safety, and operational standards.
- Maintain workplace standards through 5S, Housekeeping, and HACCP practices.
- Identify and report safety risks within the assigned department.
- Apply Life Saving Rules (LSR) and promote safe working behaviors.
- Take corrective action and report unsafe situations or incidents.
- Safely perform equipment shutdown and startup activities during maintenance periods.
- Comply with company and local safety procedures and regulations.
- Identify water and energy losses and recommend improvement solutions.
- Support environmental sustainability initiatives and good environmental practices.
- Perform quality checks and food safety inspections according to established standards.
- Detect quality-related issues and participate in corrective and preventive actions.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Execute cleaning and disinfection activities following SOPs, recipe standards, and CILT requirements.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies and participate in continuous improvement teams.
- Use digital systems to document operations, downtime, shift handovers, and performance reports.
- Restore and maintain equipment basic conditions using SOP, OPL, CILT, and 5S tools.
- Apply APM methodology and participate in TPM activities related to safety, quality, environment, and performance.
- Identify operational losses including material, water, extract, and energy losses.
- Operate packaging equipment according to production schedules and demand.
- Perform routine packaging activities including cleaning, sampling, startup, and shutdown procedures.
- Operate simple packaging machines and execute basic maintenance activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved through timely and efficient operations.
- Capture operational performance data and implement corrective actions.
- Manage tagging and de-tagging processes and eliminate equipment abnormalities.
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting for the assigned work area.
Requirements:
- 0–2 years of experience, preferably within beverage manufacturing, packaging operations, logistics, or shop floor environments.
- Basic understanding of safety, quality, and production standards.
- Ability to operate production equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
