Role Overview
Lovegrass Agro-Processing Plc is looking for a results-driven Procurement Manager who will lead and optimize the company’s procurement. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for:
- Sourcing high-quality goods and services at competitive prices
- Managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely purchasing
- Overseeing procurement policies and processes
- Managing contracts and negotiations
- Ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Forecast procurement needs based on operational requirements and budget allocations.
- Prepare annual procurement plans and ensure timely execution.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers.
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and pricing trends.
- Lead transparent and competitive bidding processes in line with Ethiopian procurement regulations.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
- Monitor contract performance and address deviations or breaches.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with Ethiopian laws, donor rules, and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, bid evaluations, and vendor contracts.
- Facilitate audits by maintaining proper documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to align procurement with stock levels.
- Monitor and report procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Implement internal controls to minimize procurement-related risks.
- Supervise procurement officers and provide coaching and performance evaluations.
- Train staff on procurement policies and ethical sourcing practices.
- Other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Remuneration and Compensation: Negotiable based on qualification.
About You
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in food manufacturing or agriculture.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems (e.g., ERP, SAP, or similar is a plus).
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 7 (Seven) years of proven experience in procurement, preferably in the FMCG, agro-processing, or manufacturing sector.
- Experience working with HR software systems (Zoho People, BambooHR, monday.com HR, and HR documentation practices).
