Job Summary
PSI Ethiopia is seeking a Quality and Training Coordinator with strong expertise in Adolescent and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health (AYSRH) interventions to support the Smart Start, IUCD, DMPA, and RMNCH programs. The coordinator will lead the rollout, coordination, and monitoring of all AYSRH quality and training activities, ensuring effective implementation across targeted regions.
The role focuses on strengthening provider capacity, promoting high-quality and client-centered services, and fostering strong stakeholder engagement to expand access, increase service uptake, and ensure the long-term sustainability of AYSRH interventions across Oromia Region.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance and Training Coordination
- Coordinate all AYSRH quality assurance and training activities to support effective program delivery and high-quality services
- Implement quality of care and training initiatives in partnership with Regional Health Bureaus and district health offices
- Roll out QA/QI tools, SOPs, quality standards, and tracking systems at regional and district levels in close collaboration with the regional AYSRH Manager and Quality and Training Lead
- Coordinate the design, rollout, and continuous refinement of training packages for healthcare workers and community actors
- Coordinate the implementation of quality-of-care tools and strategies at community and facility levels
- Monitor and assess provider competencies regularly to ensure high-quality AYSRH clinical care
- Promote equitable, informed choice and support access to modern contraceptive services
- Facilitate Training of Trainers (ToTs) sessions for government staff and master trainers
- Adapt and manage refresher and comprehensive training for healthcare workers and community actors
- Work with partners to strengthen training delivery and ensure consistency across implementation sites
- Coordinate departmental work plans and budgets, ensuring timely consolidation, review, and submission
2. Performance Review and Reporting
- Track program progress against indicators, milestones, and Management by Objectives (MBOs)
- Consolidate inputs for government and internal reports while ensuring quality and accuracy
- Support timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual Quality and Training updates
- Support data collection, extraction, utilization, and performance monitoring activities
- Analyze training effectiveness and service quality data to guide adaptive management
- Participate in implementation research and learning activities
- Document and disseminate best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations
3. Communication, Correspondence, and Documentation
- Facilitate communication between regional AYSRH teams, departments, and external stakeholders
- Organize meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes, and follow up on actions
- Work closely with Regional Health Bureaus, zonal and woreda health offices to co-design training and quality assurance approaches
- Facilitate coordination meetings with community structures including VHLs, WDAs, TBAs, and local platforms
4. Technical Coordination & Interdepartmental Facilitation
- Develop and implement quality assurance mechanisms and monitoring tools
- Conduct supportive supervision, mentorship, and coaching to strengthen service quality
- Facilitate performance reviews and provide technical feedback for improvement
- Coordinate with PHCUs and woreda health offices to ensure adherence to standards and guidelines
5. Stakeholder Engagement and Support
- Coordinate with government counterparts to ensure timely reporting and policy alignment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with RHBs, government institutions, and NGOs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate project quality standards into existing health systems
6. Standardization and Documentation
- Support standardization of clinical service delivery approaches through manuals, guides, and checklists
- Maintain a database of trainees and training outcomes to improve training efficiency
- Document activities, outcomes, and lessons learned for reporting and knowledge management
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least four (4) years of experience with a Master’s Degree or six (6) years of experience with a First Degree in Medicine, Public Health, Midwifery, or Nursing
- Proven experience in designing and implementing quality of care and training initiatives at scale
- Experience in AYSRH quality of care tools design and implementation
- Excellent training and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with government officials, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in monitoring and evaluation
- Ability to travel within Ethiopia as required
