About the Company
At Engage Now Africa (ENA), we believe in the power of storytelling to connect, inspire, and grow. We’re a vibrant team dedicated to combating poverty and social inequality by lifting, healing, and rescuing families and communities through integrated projects in education, health, water, self-reliance, and human trafficking. We're seeking a creative powerhouse to become the voice and eyes of our brand across the digital landscape.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Social Media Content Coordinator (SMC) to own our social media presence from concept to execution. This is not just a scheduling job—it's a hands-on creative role where you will be the architect of our visual narrative. You will be responsible for creating thumb-stopping content, building our community, and translating our brand's essence into compelling social media stories that drive engagement and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Production (60%):
- Conceive, shoot, and edit high-quality, original photography and short-form video content (for Facebook, Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Stories, etc.) that aligns with ENA brand identity.
- Create daily Instagram/Facebook/Snapchat Stories featuring behind-the-scenes content, polls, Q&As, and interactive elements.
- Manage all aspects of post-production, including color correction, basic motion graphics, sound design, and copywriting for captions.
- Maintain and organize a digital asset library of all photo and video content.
Strategy & Management (30%):
- Develop and execute a proactive content calendar across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.).
- Schedule and publish all content using social media management tools (e.g., Later, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
- Monitor trends, audience preferences, and competitor activity to inform content strategy.
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics (engagement, reach, growth) to optimize future content.
Community & Engagement (10%):
- Serve as the frontline voice of the brand, responding to comments, messages, and user-generated content in a timely and authentic tone.
- Foster a positive and active online community.
- Collaborate with influencers, brand ambassadors, and customers to co-create and share content.
Qualifications
- A Portfolio: A strong, demonstrable portfolio showcasing original photography and video work, ideally with a focus on social media content.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in shooting with smartphones and/or DSLR/mirrorless cameras.
- Proven skill in video editing software (CapCut, Premiere Rush, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Proficiency in photo editing apps (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or equivalent mobile apps).
- Hands-on experience with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest as business platforms.
- Creative Storytelling: An innate ability to craft a narrative through visuals and copy that resonates with a target audience.
- Copywriting: Ability to write clear, engaging, and on-brand captions and hooks.
Nice to Have:
- 2+ years of professional or intensive personal experience in social media content creation.
- Advanced knowledge of graphic design principles and tools (Canva, Adobe Express).
- Advanced understanding of social media advertising and basic analytics.
- Experience in NGO work
