Immediate Vacancy: Accountant

Job Summary

East African Mining Co. Plc is looking for a competent and detail-oriented Accountant with solid experience in import and export operations. The candidate must have hands-on experience with ERP systems, be trained in IFRS, and be capable of working confidently with Excel. The role requires a person with strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, record, and maintain all financial transactions in line with IFRS requirements
• Handle import and export related financial tasks including LC tracking, cost build-up, duty and tax reconciliation, and landed cost calculations
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, including supplier reconciliation and customer follow-ups
• Support inventory valuation, cost allocation, and stock reconciliation
• Prepare bank reconciliations, journal entries, and schedule reports
• Work closely with the import, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure proper documentation and timely recording
• Maintain proper filing of all financial documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 6 years of experience as an Accountant, with preference for those who worked in import and export companies
• Strong practical experience with ERP systems is mandatory
• IFRS trained and able to apply IFRS
• Strong Excel skills
