Position Summary
The Accountant will manage overall finance operations focusing on budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, reporting, and cash flow management.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial management reports and provide information for decision-making.
- Transaction Processing: Process all financial transactions in NetSuite for accurate reporting.
- Compliance Review: Review financial commitments and payment requests for policy compliance.
- Budget Monitoring: Monitor budget implementation across project activities.
- Fund Requests: Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly fund requests.
- Expense Monitoring: Review monthly expenses and report to the COP.
- Event Preparation: Oversee budget and logistics for seminars, workshops, and retreats.
- Petty Cash Administration: Act as a backup and maintain up-to-date petty cash logs.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business (focus on Accounting); a Master's degree is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in accounting, preferably related to international donor-funded programs.
- Technical Skills: Proven computer skills (NetSuite/MS Office) and understanding of financial processes.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills; attention to detail and ethical behavior are essential.
