Job Summary
The accountant will be responsible for managing day to day financial transaction, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government relegations. the position requires strong analytical skills, attention to details, and the ability to work effectively within a team to support the overall financial health and efficiency of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions accurately and timely.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate ledger accounts.
- Process payments, receipts, and handle petty cash management.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely settlements.
- Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and handle monthly tax declarations (VAT, Withholding, Income Tax, etc.).
- Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and cost analysis.
- Maintain organized financial records and support management with financial insights.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a trading, import, or pharmaceutical company.
- Prior work experience in a PLC environment is required; experience in an import–export company is highly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Excellent computer skills in MS Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
