Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Bakery & Pastry Instructor to join our culinary education team. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of hands-on experience in bakery and pastry arts, with a strong background in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction, inspiring students, and maintaining industry standards in both traditional and modern baking techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and practical instruction in bakery and pastry arts to students of varying skill levels.
- Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials in line with industry trends.
- Demonstrate advanced techniques in bread making , cakes, pastries, and desserts.
- Supervise and mentor students during practical sessions and assessments.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized learning environment in the kitchen.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques.
- Participate in school events, workshops, and community outreach programs.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry & Bakery, or related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in bakery and pastry.
- Proven experience in teaching, training, or mentoring in a culinary or academic setting.
- Expertise in artisan bread, classic and modern pastries, cake decoration, and chocolate work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring bakers and pastry chefs.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene is a plus.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in international kitchens or culinary schools.
- Ability to integrate local and global baking trends into the curriculum.
- Creative, patient, and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge.
