Job Description
The Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager will play a pivotal role in our Financial Planning & Analysis department. They will be responsible for establishing a data-centric culture, enabling our business to make informed decisions and drive commercial success. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to develop and implement advanced analytics strategies.
Responsibilities
Role purpose:
The position holder will be responsible for delivering Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics capabilities across the business, ensuring data-driven decision-making and strategic insight generation. The role demands a balance of technical acumen, business foresight, and leadership in developing scalable analytics infrastructure, automation, and predictive modelling solutions to drive product innovation, commercial performance, quality financial reporting and analysis.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
BI Strategy & Delivery:
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of BI and analytics solutions—requirements gathering, data modelling, ETL, dash-board development, and automation—ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy and business goals.Cross-Functional Data Governance:
- Champion data quality, consistency, and integrity through standardized data definitions and governance frameworks. Partner with IT, Finance, Commercial, and RA teams to enforce a single version of truth across all reporting layers.Data Visualization & Insight Automation:
- Architect, design, and develop intuitive, scalable dashboards (using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik) with built-in drill-down and storytelling features. Lead BI assurance to validate KPIs and ensure data accuracy in business-critical reports.
Advanced Analytics & Forecasting:
- Build, deploy, and operationalize predictive and prescriptive analytics models leveraging Python, R, and machine learning frameworks. Develop AI-driven forecasting models with target prediction accuracy above 98%.
- Support finance Reporting and Business Performance analysisCollaborate with the FP&A, and the Finance operations reporting team to insure actionable insights and timely data analytics for month-end reporting. To include customer churn analytics, ARPU optimization, and campaign ROI measurement.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- BI & Data Engineering Expertise:Hands-on experience in ETL design, data modelling (Kimball or Inmon methodologies), and building data marts or lakes.
- Visualization & Storytelling:Proven ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights through interactive dashboards and compelling visual narratives. Strong command of DAX, MDX, and SQL optimization for report performance tuning.
- Analytics and Data Science Proficiency:Demonstrated application of statistical analysis, regression modeling, clustering, segmentation, and time-series forecasting to telecom use cases such as churn prediction, revenue assurance, and network optimization.
- Business Acumen and Stakeholder Management:Skilled in influencing non-technical stakeholders, aligning analytics outputs with commercial priorities, and driving adoption of BI tools across the business ecosystem.
- Automation and Continuous Improvement Mindset:Adept at identifying manual reporting processes suitable for automation using Python scripting, Power Automate, or VBA, and embedding a culture of self-service analytics and data democratization.
Key performance indicators
- Timely delivery of high-quality, auto-mated BI dashboards and analytics products. Daily. Weekly and monthly Business performance dashboard
- Demonstrated business impact through data-driven insights influencing revenue, churn, and operational KPIs
- Increased self-service BI adoption and reduction in manual reporting efforts across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or any other related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or data engineering, preferably in the telecommunications or digital services industry.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python and advanced Excel for data manipulation and analytics.
- Solid experience in one or more BI tools: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, MicroStrategy, or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
- Exposure to machine learning and AI modelling techniques for forecasting, classification, and recommendation systems
