Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Protection Officer, the Community Mobilization Assistant will oversee providing psychosocial case management services to women affected by conflict, specifically supporting survivors of gender-based violence. Responsibilities include:
- Identifying the needs of women and referring them to appropriate care.
- Engaging community members and structures.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
The Community Mobilization Assistant will:
- Mobilize and engage community members in prevention and response events.
- Coordinate with partners to integrate GBV prevention activities.
- Facilitate community events to create awareness on GBV.
- Engage community members to design participatory strategies.
- Identify the special needs of women and liaise with the Protection Officer.
- Establish community-based complaints mechanisms.
- Support and mentor facilitators and community volunteers.
- Identify gaps in service delivery and coordinate with relevant actors.
- Work closely with partners and community leaders.
- Monitor protection concerns for women and girls.
- Maintain records of activities and produce regular updates.
- Conduct incidence trends analysis each quarter.
- Practice self-care and adhere to GBV protection guiding principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in relevant fields.
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in GBV Protection.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Experience in women's rights and Gender Equality.
- Solid understanding of safeguarding and accountability.
- Fluency in local language and excellent English skills.
