Join Our Team as Community Mobilization Assistant

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Protection Officer, the Community Mobilization Assistant will oversee providing psychosocial case management services to women affected by conflict, specifically supporting survivors of gender-based violence. Responsibilities include:

• Identifying the needs of women and referring them to appropriate care.
• Engaging community members and structures.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

The Community Mobilization Assistant will:

• Mobilize and engage community members in prevention and response events.
• Coordinate with partners to integrate GBV prevention activities.
• Facilitate community events to create awareness on GBV.
• Engage community members to design participatory strategies.
• Identify the special needs of women and liaise with the Protection Officer.
• Establish community-based complaints mechanisms.
• Support and mentor facilitators and community volunteers.
• Identify gaps in service delivery and coordinate with relevant actors.
• Work closely with partners and community leaders.
• Monitor protection concerns for women and girls.
• Maintain records of activities and produce regular updates.
• Conduct incidence trends analysis each quarter.
• Practice self-care and adhere to GBV protection guiding principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in relevant fields.
• Minimum 1-2 years working experience in GBV Protection.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Experience in women's rights and Gender Equality.
• Solid understanding of safeguarding and accountability.
• Fluency in local language and excellent English skills.
