Job Summary
Belayab Cable Manufacturing PLC is seeking a qualified and competent General Accounts Division Head to coordinate, lead, and control the company’s general accounting operations.
The role is responsible for overseeing collections, disbursements, financial records, budgeting, reporting, payroll, taxation follow-up, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise general accounts and related financial operations for effective performance.
- Participate in annual budgeting, strategic planning, and finance plan preparation.
- Implement financial strategic plans, policies, and procedures of the company.
- Ensure expenditures are made according to approved budgets and company guidelines.
- Review and verify payment requests and purchase orders for budget availability.
- Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted accounting standards and company procedures.
- Develop and manage accounting records, journals, ledgers, and postings.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and proper recording of collections.
- Reconcile company bank accounts and monitor cash movements.
- Prepare payroll based on attendance records and contractual agreements.
- Record daily sales transactions into the proper accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements and analysis reports.
- Follow up taxation matters, insurance payments, and statutory obligations on time.
- Review payroll and authorize monthly payments.
- Prepare departmental resource requirements and budgets to achieve targets.
- Provide solutions and ensure activities are carried out according to company standards and regulations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualification
- BA degree in Accounting.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in accounting and finance.
- Experience in manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Additional Skills
- Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of financial software packages.
- Practical experience using Peachtree accounting software.
- Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
