General Head Accountant

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced General Head Accountant to oversee all accounting functions and ensure effective financial management. The ideal candidate will play a key role in:

• Managing accounts
• Preparing reports
• Handling taxation matters
• Mentoring junior accountants

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, ledgers, LC documents, and import cost builds.
• Prepare monthly closings, financial statements, and production cost analyses.
• Develop and maintain the production standard cost model.
• Post daily production consumption and finished goods.
• Provide profit margin analysis and monitor raw material consumption.
• Lead annual budget processes, year-end audits, and financial closings.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports in a timely manner.
• Mentor and supervise junior accountants to ensure team growth and compliance.
• Process invoices, cheque runs, RTGs, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Oversee payroll, including wage calculations, tax deductions, and benefits.
• Prepare monthly payroll reports and ensure system integration with HR and General Ledger.
• Manage taxation requirements (VAT, WHT, income tax, pension) and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Maintain and operate financial systems, including e-tax and TAAS.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports to management and ensure timely submissions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of proven experience in accounting and finance.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting standards and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office tools.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to mentor a team.
