About the Job:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Office Interior Designer to join our team and create functional, modern, and inspiring workplace environments for corporate offices, co-working spaces, commercial buildings, and business headquarters. You will transform empty or outdated office spaces into productive, aesthetically pleasing, and employee-friendly areas that reflect the company's brand identity while optimizing space usage, workflow, and comfort.

This role focuses specifically on commercial/office projects, emphasizing ergonomic furniture layouts, efficient space planning, corporate branding integration, collaborative zones, meeting rooms, reception areas, breakout spaces, and sustainable design solutions suitable for modern Ethiopian workplaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients (business owners, HR teams, architects, or facility managers) to understand their needs, company culture, brand values, budget constraints, and functional requirements for the office space.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and measurements of existing or new office spaces.
  • Develop creative design concepts, including mood boards, color schemes, material palettes, and preliminary sketches tailored to office environments.
  • Create detailed space plans, floor layouts, furniture arrangements, and circulation paths that maximize productivity, natural light, and employee well-being.
  • Produce high-quality 2D drawings, 3D renderings, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings using relevant software.
  • Select appropriate furniture, fixtures, lighting, flooring, wall treatments, acoustic solutions, and office equipment while considering durability, ergonomics, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Incorporate branding elements (logos, colors, signage) into the interior design to strengthen corporate identity.
  • Ensure designs comply with local building codes, fire safety regulations, accessibility standards, and ergonomic guidelines.
  • Prepare cost estimates, material specifications, and procurement lists; coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and furniture vendors.
  • Oversee project implementation, including site supervision during installation to ensure the final result matches the approved design.
  • Manage multiple office projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and staying within budget.

About You (Qualifications & Experience):

  • More than 2 years of proven professional experience as an Interior Designer, preferably with a focus on office/commercial projects (corporate offices, banks, startups, co-working spaces, etc.).
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing successful office interior design work (please include examples when applying).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field (MSc/BSc preferred).
  • Strong understanding of commercial office trends, including flexible workspaces, hybrid work setups, wellness-focused design, and sustainable materials.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent creativity and innovative thinking to develop unique, inspiring office environments.
  • Proficiency in architectural and interior design principles, including space planning, scale, proportion, lighting design, and material knowledge.
  • Strong ad design / advertisement design skills — ability to create visually compelling presentations, marketing materials for design proposals, client pitch decks, social media content, or promotional visuals for completed office projects (helpful for client communication and portfolio building).
  • Mastery of design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (especially useful for ad design and renderings).
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills — ability to listen, interpret needs, and present ideas clearly.
  • Project management basics: time management, budgeting awareness, and coordination with contractors/architects.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work under pressure.
