About the Job

Patchee Food Manufacturing PLC is a confectionery manufacturing company specializing in a variety of chocolates. The Accountant position plays a vital role in managing financial records and supporting the financial operations of the company. This full-time, junior-level position is designed for candidates with 1-2 years of experience eager to develop their skills in the accounting and finance sector. The role requires working in an office environment in Addis Ababa, on Ring Road around Saris Abo.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Records: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets and income statements.
• IFRS Compliance: Assist in the preparation and review of full IFRS financial statements.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and budget planning.
• Accounting Software: Utilize Peachtree software to manage accounting tasks efficiently.
• Forecasting: Create financial forecasts and reports to aid in strategic planning.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain organized data and record-keeping systems.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to complete financial projects and initiatives.
• Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation for audits and assist in the audit process.
• Administrative Support: Support the finance team with various administrative tasks as required.

About You

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience: 1-2 years proven experience in an accounting position (experience in a factory is preferable).
• Software Knowledge: Knowledge of Peachtree software application.
• Microsoft Office: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Financial Analysis: Demonstrated ability in financial analysis and reporting.
• Data Entry: Basic data entry and record-keeping skills.
• Financial Reporting: Ability to prepare accurate financial records and reports.
• IFRS Familiarity: Familiarity with full IFRS financial statements preparation and review.
• Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented approach to financial documentation and analysis.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and files.
• Multitasking Ability: Capacity to multitask and effectively prioritize responsibilities.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both written and spoken English and Amharic; additional languages are a plus.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Adaptability: Adaptability to learn new tools and processes quickly.
