Position Overview:
We seek a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will support the accounting department by assisting with various financial tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Keep business licenses up to date.
- Maintain and update the general ledger by recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of necessary journal entries.
- Assist in accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Help in the preparation of tax returns and ensure adherence to tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance (internships or relevant coursework may be considered).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, Sage).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
