About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated, quick-learning Junior Quality Assurance & Business Analyst to join our growing team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals with less than 1 year of professional experience.
The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, communicates clearly and confidently, pays attention to detail, and is excited to learn both software testing and business analysis in an Agile/Scrum environment.
You will play a key bridge role between our development team, stakeholders, and end-users — helping ensure our software is of high quality, well-understood, and delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual software testing (functional, regression, exploratory) to identify bugs and ensure the product works as expected.
- Gather and clarify software requirements from stakeholders, product owners, and users through interviews, meetings, and documentation.
- Create, write, and manage tickets/user stories in Jira (including acceptance criteria, descriptions, and priorities).
- Troubleshoot and replicate issues reported by users or found during testing, then clearly document steps to reproduce.
- Write and maintain clear software documentation (test cases, user guides, requirement documents, process flows).
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos) and help facilitate smooth team processes.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other team members to improve quality and delivery.
- (Opportunity to learn) Contribute to automated testing efforts using tools like Cypress, Playwright, or basic unit testing frameworks as you grow.
Required Skills & Qualities (Must-Have):
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) — ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical people and vice versa.
- Strong organization and time-management — ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and keep things well-documented.
- Attention to detail and logical thinking.
- Basic understanding of software development or testing concepts (can be from university projects, personal learning, or internships).
- Willingness and eagerness to learn quickly and be trained on our specific tools and processes.
- Proficiency in English (written & spoken); Amharic is a plus.
- Comfortable using basic tools like Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, and willing to learn Jira quickly.
Nice-to-Have:
- Any exposure to Agile/Scrum, Jira, or software testing (even from courses/projects).
- Familiarity with automated testing tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc.).
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field (recent graduates welcome).
Experience Level:
- 0–1 year of professional experience (fresh graduates or very early-career candidates are strongly encouraged to apply).
