Job Summary:
On behalf of our client, PETCO Ethiopia Community Organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Officer to support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities under the Mabqat Project. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth project execution through administrative support, stakeholder coordination, documentation, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation activities. The Project Officer will contribute to timely delivery of project outputs, effective communication among partners, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities with the project management team.
- Assist in the development and execution of project work plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks.
- Provide administrative and logistical support including scheduling meetings, organizing workshops, and arranging travel.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, databases, files, and contact lists.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities including data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare and disseminate project communications such as newsletters, social media posts, and progress updates.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including government agencies, civil society organizations, and community groups.
- Assist in preparing quarterly, annual, and donor reports in line with project requirements.
- Support documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
- Assist in conducting project reviews, assessments, and evaluations.
- Support partners on implementation procedures, data management, and financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in project coordination, administration, or development programs.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in development or humanitarian projects.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Amharic is an advantage.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in project monitoring, reporting, and budget support.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel within Ethiopia as required.
