Abebech Gobena Charity is a not-for-profit organization established by philanthropist Hon. Dr. Abebech Gobena in 1980 during severe drought in the country.
Currently, the organization is involved in a wide range of services: Institutional child care, Child- family Foster care, Supplementary feeding, Women empowerment through skill training and many other community based activities. Through these programs the organization has changed the lives of millions of people in the past 45 years. It is currently registered according to the new Ethiopian Civil Society Organization’s proclamation and has received a registration certificate with number 0181.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Public Relations / Communication Officer to manage the organization’s internal and external communication activities. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a positive public image, handle media relations, and ensure clear and consistent messaging across all communication channels.
Required Qualification and Competences
- BA/MA Degree in Journalism and Communication, Public Relations, Communications and/or other related areas
- With 2 years of experience
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of Audio-visual technologies, and experience in social media platforms.
- Excellent skills in dealing with the media and coordinating background information and interviews
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitasking, and proactive
- Verbal, written, and grammar fluency in English.
