Job Purpose
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring timely availability of raw materials, accessories, and supplies required for garment production. The role focuses on cost control, supplier coordination, and smooth supply chain support.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase fabrics, accessories, trims, packaging materials, and production supplies.
- Identify and maintain reliable suppliers to ensure quality, price, and timely delivery.
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to avoid production delays.
- Compare supplier quotations and negotiate prices and payment terms.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and finance teams for material planning.
- Ensure purchased items meet required quality and specification standards.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, stock reports, and supplier documentation.
- Support cost-saving and local sourcing initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, Management, or a related field.
- 2–7 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in garment or manufacturing industries.
- Good knowledge of local suppliers and sourcing markets.
- Basic understanding of inventory and production planning.
