Job Summary
DEDE Bottle Factory PLC is an emerging bottle manufacturer dedicated to high-quality, sustainable production. Located in Debre Birhan, with a contact office in Addis Ababa, the company is currently in the advanced project phase, preparing for full-scale operations with cutting-edge machinery and expert teams to serve both local and international markets with innovative bottle solutions.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that glass bottles meet strict quality standards by conducting real-time inspections during production shifts. The position is essential in identifying defects, reporting non-conforming products, and collaborating with production teams to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on glass bottles to detect defects such as cracks, bubbles, misalignment, thickness variations, and contamination.
- Identify and remove defective bottles from the production line before packaging or shipment.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify product specifications.
- Monitor and ensure proper functioning of automatic inspection equipment and report malfunctions when necessary.
- Maintain detailed inspection logs, recording defects, frequency, and possible causes to support root cause analysis.
- Report deviations from quality standards promptly to supervisors and machine operators.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve recurring defects related to equipment or operations.
- Provide feedback on machine performance when defects are linked to mechanical wear or calibration issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure safe handling and disposal of glass fragments and defective products.
- Follow industry quality assurance procedures and factory protocols for defect classification and reporting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education:
- BSc Degree or TVET Level in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or training in Quality Inspection Procedures for Manufacturing & Glass Production, defect recognition and classification, and safety training including proper PPE usage are an advantage.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing or glass production environment.
- Experience using inspection tools and visual assessment techniques for industrial products.
- Experience handling precision measurement instruments for dimensional analysis.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent visual acuity to detect product defects.
- Basic data recording and report writing skills.
- Knowledge of quality standards in glass bottle manufacturing.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with production teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
