Job Description:
The job holder provides effective support in School Feeding Nutrition and standards to effectively respond to the needs of 7–14-year-old children at school. The school feeding supervisor will provide high-level technical assistance for the implementation of school feeding programs as part of a multi-sectoral nutrition program.
Collaboration and Responsibilities:
The position will collaborate and work together with important partners and stakeholders such as:
- RRS
- WFP
- Other organizations working with similar activities in the refugee camp
Focusing on school-based health, nutrition, and hygiene/sanitation education will be an important component of the school feeding program. Technical assistance for program monitoring and budgeting of school feeding-related activities will be an integral part of the position.
His/her work enables World Vision Ethiopia to reach, assist, and protect many vulnerable children facing rapid and slow onset emergencies and disasters across the country, directly linked with World Vision’s mandate of promoting and ensuring the wellbeing of children in Ethiopia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the planning and implementation of all school feeding activities of refugees by closely working with the program team, commodity staff, and stakeholders at woreda level.
- Ensure the best management of school food commodities as per the minimum commodity management standards.
- Lead the planning and implementation of feeding to students in a timely manner.
- Supervise and lead the school feeding team at camp level to ensure best school feeding management practices.
- Provide written reports and data to WFP team and commodity staff at head office and regional level.
- Maintain a strong and smooth relationship with region and camp level major stakeholders.
Qualification:
- BA/BSc Degree in Agric. Econ, Disaster Management, Rural Development, Economics & Dev’s. Studies, or any other related field.
- Experience in integrated project design, implementation, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with major donor programs - WFP and USAID.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.
- Good level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in relief and/or any emergency response program interventions implementation.
