Security & External Relations Manager

Job Summary

Holland Dairy is looking for a Security and External Relations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of company operations across Ethiopia, ensuring the protection of personnel, assets, and information. This role also involves managing external relations with key stakeholders, including government authorities, peer organizations, and security networks.

Responsibilities

1. Security Monitoring & Intelligence

• Continuously monitor the security situation in Ethiopia, with a focus on areas where the company operates.
• Maintain up-to-date security briefings and communicate relevant updates to management and key staff.
• Liaise with security networks, peer companies, embassies, and official sources to gather and verify information.

2. Staff & Travel Safety

• Provide travel risk assessments and advice for staff planning field trips or inter-city travel.
• Maintain a travel approval and tracking protocol to ensure visibility and support for mobile teams.
• Serve as the go-to advisor for all travel safety concerns and contingency planning.

3. Protocols, Policies & Training

• Develop and maintain a company-wide safety & security policy tailored to the Ethiopian context.
• Design and roll out training for staff on safety practices, personal security, and emergency protocols.
• Establish procedures for incident reporting and post-incident analysis.

4. Incident Response & Investigation

• Serve as the first point of contact for security incidents.
• Lead or coordinate response efforts during security incidents.
• Investigate incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as the liaison for security matters with local authorities, security service providers, and peer organizations.
• Work with HR, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure alignment on policies and staff responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in security management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in safety/security management
• Demonstrated ability to manage risk in environments with uncertainty or volatility.
• Strong situational awareness and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills.
• Specialized training in security, emergency response, or occupational safety is a plus.
• Discretion, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Professional speaker in English, Afaan Oromo and Amharic is required for the job and Other Ethiopian languages are advantageous
