KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local standards.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes. the Percentage-of-Completion (POC) method.
- Monitor project cash flow and profitability.
- Accurately prepare and timely submit monthly tax reports including: Value Added (VAT), Withholding Taxes (WHT), Payroll Taxes, and Pension Contribution
- Manage all dealings with tax authorities, including responses to inquiries and tax timely manner.
- Oversee the billing process and collections from clients, ensuring a healthy cash flow.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role within the Construction or Manufacturing Industry in Ethiopia.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Peachtree Accounting Software and Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth, hands-on experience with e-Filing Systems and TASS procedures.
- Knowledge Thorough understanding of IFRS.
- Expert knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and commercial codes.
- Strong understanding on project-based accounting principles.
