Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Software Management: Maintain and manage the general ledger and all financial transactions using Peachtree (Sage 50) accounting software.
• Transaction Oversight: Monitor daily financial activities, including cash flows, bank reconciliations, and member savings/loan accounts.
• Audit & Compliance: Facilitate internal and external auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring all financial practices meet regulatory standards for cooperatives.
• Taxation: Manage tax declarations, including VAT, Withholding Tax, and employment taxes, ensuring they are filed according to national tax laws.
• Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of the organization’s annual budget and perform variance analysis to track financial performance.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls to safeguard the society’s assets and prevent fraud or errors.
• Member Support: Oversee the accurate calculation of interest on savings and loans, ensuring member equity and dividends are handled correctly.

Minimum Requirements:

• MA or BA degree in Accounting and Finance, Management, or a related field.
• 3 / 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience and knowledge of working with IFRS and Peachtree accounting software.
