Sr. Accountant (Female Candidates Only)

Job Summary

On behalf of our client we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years of solid, hands-on experience in construction accounting. This role plays a vital part in safeguarding the financial integrity of our operations, ensuring precise job costing, accurate revenue recognition, and strict adherence to IFRS and Ethiopian financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee proper application of revenue recognition methods, including IFRS 15 for all active construction contracts.
• Perform complex general ledger reconciliations and financial analyses to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
• Manage the complete accounting cycle for the business center, including rental income, tenant deposits, operating expenses, and compliance with lease agreements.
• Lead timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, industry regulations, and reporting standards relevant to construction.
• Identify gaps, recommend improvements, and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and tax preparation, ensuring availability of all required documents and reports.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive general accounting experience. 
• Mandatory 2–3 years of recent experience in construction accounting (non-negotiable).
• Strong, in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with expertise in construction contract accounting.
• Solid understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations and financial compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
